In such unusual times, making changes to improve both yours and our safety is so important. So things will be a little different from what we are all used to during face to face sessions. Below outlines what to expect during face to face sessions. The full Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this time can be accessed at the bottom of the page.
- Physio's will be wearing full PPE for all face to face appointments. This will include:
- Gloves
- Apron
- Mask
- Face shield (in some but not all sessions).
- You will be asked to complete screening and consent forms specific to Covid-19 when you book your face to face appointment and again on the day of your face to face appointment - these must both be passed before face to face treatment will go ahead - there will be no late cancellation charge for failed screening.
- Time spent closer than 2m will be limited as far as possible
- This is not to say that sessions will not involve any "hands on" treatment, but that this will be limited.
- Non-contact treatment such as education, advice and exercise programs will be carried out at a distance greater than 2m where ever possible.
- What should you do to prepare? When receiving a face to face treatment we would ask patients to follow these steps:
- Please wear some form of face covering for the duration of your session
- Please select a room for treatment that is easily accessed from where your physio will be entering your home, and is big enough for 2m distancing to be observed as far as possible.
- Where possible create extra ventilation in the treatment room - e.g. opening a window
- Unless you are under the age of 18 or in a vulnerable group where a chaperone will be required for your session, please do not invite other household members to be present in the room of your treatment.
- We advise you wash your hands thoroughly before and after your session as well as wiping contact points like door handles etc before and after.
If you have any worries or concerns about face to face sessions or if they would be suitable for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch and we can talk things through.
